CHICAGO KIDS 2011
August 1 – August 7

 
Six teenage girls, six teenage boys, three college age alumni along with six Counselors and a three year old toddler girl will arrive Monday evening, August 2nd, to interact with the Springhill congregation experiencing fellowship ,Bible Study, adventure, and bonding with Host Families. Other guests will be Pastor Aaron Roy and his family from Richmond, California. These visitors will be guests in the homes of: Joe & Carolyn Nelson, Dan & Janis Hertel, Scot & Judy Smith, Lou & Sandy Regnerus, and John & Judy Grossenbacher. We are still in need on one more Host Family.
A documentary film will be made, as a class project, of this year’s visit, by Abbey Nelson (daughter of Joe & Carolyn Nelson) a student in Film studies at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles. Abbey will be leaving for Chicago right after July 4th to be at Sunshine for 3 weeks before riding out to Montana in their caravan of vans.

August 1
  • 6:00 PM Chicago kids arrive and are assigned to host families
August 2
  • 8:00 AM Service Project at Springhill Church campus
  • 6:30 PM Dutch oven cookout and campfire (youth & college kids)
August 3
  • 8:00 AM Fly fishing float trip to Yellowstone River
  • 6:00 PM Food and fellowship with host family and friends
August 4
  • 9:00 AM Leave for campout and tour of Yellowstone National Park
August 5
  • 9:00 AM Tour Yellowstone National Park
  • 6:00 PM Chicago Kids and their leaders have dinner on their own in Bozeman
August 6
  • 10:00 AM Meet at Ferry Lake Trail Head for hike to Sacajawea Peak (all church)
  • 5:30 PM Picnic with Chicago Kids at Springhill Church campus (all church)
  • 6:30 PM Springhill Church/ Sunshine Basketball game
August 7
  • 8:00 AM Chicago Kids participate in Worship Service
  • 10:30 AM Chicago Kids participate in Worship Service
  • 12:30 PM Host Family/Chicago Kids picnic
  • 5:00 PM Chicago kids participate in Worship Service
August 8
  • 6:00 AM Chicago Kids leave for home

HOW YOU CAN HELP!
  1. If you have to a drift boat or raft and want to guide 2 visitors on the Yellowsone River fly fishing trip, call Rick Ramler at 539-0150 (cell) or 388-0150 (work).
  2. If you want to host two youth and one counselor for the week, please call John Grossenbacher at 581-7070 (cell) or 388-0131 (home).
