“What’s a community group?”

Springhill church exists for the purpose that all may come to know and enjoy God, His world and each other through Jesus Christ.

A community group is a place to live out this purpose. How so? Let’s break it into two parts.

Part 1 - That all may come to know and enjoy God....
Groups are open to all who are interested in learning more about Christianity. Whether you’ve been attending church your whole life or you’ve just become interested in learning about Jesus, you are welcome in a community group. In order to enjoy God, we first have to know him. At Springhill this starts on Sunday morning through the hearing of the preached Word. When we kick off our groups in October, we will be discussing questions derived from Pastor BJ’s sermons. This will be an opportunity to dig into the meat of the sermon, open the Scriptures together, clarify what we’ve heard, and share what the Lord is teaching us. We are convinced that as we know Him better we can’t help but enjoy Him more!

Part 2 - ...His world and each other through Jesus Christ.
Many of you have commented that you struggle to learn the names of new people here at Springhill. As the Lord grows our numbers, it becomes harder to know everyone on a first name basis let alone at a deeper level. That’s where community groups help us fulfill the second half of our purpose statement. They are a chance to further grow and develop relationships beyond a simple, “hello” on Sunday morning. When choosing a group to join, we encourage you not to simply pick a group with people you already know, but a group of people that you can get to know through your common interest in Jesus Christ!
